Vitor Belfort KO’s Luke Rockhold

It took one spinning heel kick to end Luke Rockhold’s (10-2) night.

Vitor Belfort (23-10) is having an amazing career resurgence lately. TRT or not, that was a beautiful finish — every bit as good as his best highlight reel KO’s. At this point, he is the next one in line after Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman. It just feels odd saying that since Silva dispatched of him so quickly. It might be tough building up a rematch against the two after how the first fight ended but at this point, he’s earned that shot.

If the UFC doesn’t want to give him a title shot, they could have him headline another Brazil card. Perhaps match him up with Yushin Okami. If Belfort gets the nod in that bout, then it’s going to be tough denying Belfort another crack at the title.

As for Rockhold, this was a brutal loss and set back. Maybe they can set up a fight with him against Brian Stann. That would be a good fight for both fighters at this point.
