UFC 144 – Quinton Rampage Jackson vs Ryan Bader Preview

Both these guys need a win here, Rampage pretty much got dominated by Jon Jones in his last fight. Even though Ryan Bader beat Jason Brilz via KO in his last fight, the thing everyone remembers is Bader getting knocked down and tapped out by Tito Ortiz. That’s probably the greatest upset of the last few years and a loss that must have been very difficult for Bader.

Rampage’s takedown defense is really excellent, it’s always been really good and it still is good as was evident in his last fight with Jones. So Bader isn’t going to take him down. Bader does hit awfully hard, if has anything one can point at is that he is a strong and hard hitter. Rampage is too, and has better boxing technique. I don’t think Rampage will take him down, but this seems like it’s going to be a stand up battle for a large portion of the fight. Rampage coming in overweight and talking about an injury he sustained in the training do make me wonder how he will perform in this fight.
