UFC 143 Preview – Ed Herman vs Clifford Starks

Since his nasty knee injury back in August of 2009, Herman has come back in 2011 and fought quite well. He beat Credeur badly via strikes and totally had his way with Kyle Noke’s on the ground. In the Noke fight, he just totally overwhelmed him via superior grappling and locked in a vicious looking heel hook for the win. In case you missed it, here it is:

He is fighting Clifford Starks, who was a wrestler for Arizona State University. I’ve only seen one fight of his, it was when he defeated Dustin Jacoby on the prelims to the Diaz-Penn card. Not sure how good Starks will match up with Herman since he is still a bit of a unknown, but Herman should have just enough submission grappling and striking experience to be the favorite.
