The Pharr Events Center will be rocking Saturday when MD Promotions throws their inaugural event titled “All Star Fight Night”. The show is stacked with talent from the RGV and is headlined by local favorite, Raul “El Tigre” Casarez, headlining against San Antonio native Quinton Whitaker. “El Tigre” is looking to rebound from his recent KO defeat he suffered this past May.The scheduled 8 fight card also has knockout artist and Harlingen native Raphael Murphy taking on journeyman Andrew Greeley in the Co-main event heavyweight battle. Anthony Cavazos of Cavazos Boxing is serving as the official matchmaker which is one of the reasons the card is loaded with RGV up and comers.

It’s always great to see promoters working together for the benefit of growing the sport and making boxing superstars in the Valley and it looks like this is just the start of a great relationship between the two promotions. “Anthony, like us sees the great local potential and he can’t give every guy out there his shot on one of his cards. So, being like minded we all saw that by working together we can produce more shows individually and give more fighters their shot on a real fight night in front of their fan base” said Promoter Mario Davila.

When asked if this would be the first of many events he would promote, Davila said “Because of the abundance of young boxing talent here in the Valley we want to produce boxing events year round. The boxing industry as a whole is on the rise and that naturally  increases interest on the local level. Add to that the fact that we are in a region that is currently  producing a crop of young and rising stars- and that is how the All Star Fight Night was born.”

Tickets for “All Star Fight Night” are priced at $25 for general admission and prime tables are still available for $500 which can seat 10. Tickets can be purchased at the Pharr Events Center, Ticketmaster or by calling MD Promotions directly at (956)668-0911. The public is welcome to attend the official weigh-ins at Stormy Colors Bar & Grill this Friday at 4:00pm 3:00pm. In addition, the fighters and the ring card girls will be available for photos.
