Strike League: Fight Your Fight Quick Recap

After a near four-month build up Strike League 1 is officially in the books. There were several changes leading up to fight night but that didn’t stop the show.

Originally scheduled for 10 fights, the fans in attendance were treated to six fights from local fighters and past UFC/Bellator competitors. The main event saw Bubba McDaniel make quick work of Juan Torres with a TKO victory in the 2nd round of the heavyweight fight. In the co-main event, David Durant came from California to tapout Luis Carter from Killeen in under two minutes of the first round. In a somewhat surprising result, Sean Clements fell to the debuting Wesley Cole when the judges awarded Cole the unanimous decision.

In the most heated battle of the night, “The Samoan Savage” Jhonoven Pati defeated Stephen Glanville with an onslaught of strikes that forced the referee to step in and stop the contest in the first round. In the battle I titled, “The War of the Guerras”, Jose Guerra took Tim Guerra down as soon as the round started and eased his way into locking an armbar forcing Tim Guerra to tapout in under two minutes of the first round. Lastly, Joshua Hill continues climbing that…hill to dominance by winning a unanimous decision over Peter Caballero.
