We aren’t even 30 days removed from the last STFC event but STFC fight card architect, Raul Ramos, is already dropping the lineup for STFC 42 happening on May 19th. The event is headlined by Eduardo Bustillos taking on Michael Rodriguez for the vacant 135lb bantamweight title. It’s interesting to see Robert Aguirre absent from the title fight since he is the most deserving out of all STFC bantamweights. Aguirre is a real horror show when he walks in the cage; he’s defeated all foes placed in front of him, knocking out two of them in brutal fashion and is close to getting his phlebotomist certificate with all the blood he has drawn from his opponents.
STFC 42 will also be the return of the “Dangerous” Danny Salinas after retiring from competition last February after his bout with Antawn Williams. DDS will be returning against Edmilson Freitas Junior who sports a 5-2 record. This will be the first time that Junior fights on American soil as the majority of his career have taken place in Brazil. The other potential co-main is a rematch of Leroy Martinez taking on Saul Elizondo. I say potential because Ramos isn’t too sure who should take the co-main spot.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of rematches but this is one score that needs to be settled. In their last meeting, Martinez was able to escape with a split decision victory. I don’t recall it being so close but I’ve slept since then. If you have a dog in the fight, go to Raul Ramos Facebook and comment who you want in the co-main event.
This fight card is subject to change and is scheduled to include more fights so make sure you hit that like button to stay updated.
