- Good fight between Daniel Straus and Marlon Sandro. Straus used his superior grinding. clinching and wrestling skills to control Sandro. The Brazilian got a standing arm triangle but it was never close to being completed. He tried to use that as a set up to trip Straus but he couldn’t. Great win for Straus, executed his gameplan perfectly.
- Great to see Marcos Galvao have this career resurgence. Some people gave Marx the 2nd round, but I thought Galvao deserved to win all three rounds. He did a great job defending Marx’s wrestling attempts and hit him with much harder strikes throughout the bout. Great job.
- Marcin Held delivered what Rousimar Palhares failed to do on Fox the week before. He fell down, grabbed Kennington’s leg, locked in a heel hook and made him scream. Held is a limited fighter, but if he gets you to the ground, it’s dangerous stuff!
- First round was mostly clinching, and then Zaromskis looked like he was doing good in the 2nd round before Spiritwolf rocked him badly. It looked like Zaromskis could have been knocked out at some point, but he survived with Spiritwolf in his guard. We got a bad stoppage, Spiritwolf’s cut didn’t look bad enough to warrant that stoppage.
